Bareboat Charter
Bareboat Chartering, just as it sounds, is for guests who want to captain a boat themselves (qualifications required)! Charter guests are responsible for all aspects of running the yacht, including sailing,
navigating, anchoring, provisioning, cooking, cleaning and most importantly have fun! If you have the experience, an adventurous spirit, and wish to try the real live-aboard lifestyle, then a bareboat charter is for you. This type of charter provides the most in freedom and privacy. Do what you want, when you want. The agenda is your own! Take the helm and sail in paradise!
What qualifications do I need to charter a bareboat sailing yacht in Greece?
In Greece it is mandatory that the bareboat charter guest who will operate the boat has the appropriate sailing certificates proving his competence! The Greek Authorities require minimum one sailing license/certification and one experienced crew member as co-skipper for bareboat charters. ASA & RYA certifications are fully recognized. A sailing license or certification is defined as the appropriate documentation officially recognized in the charterer's home country. A sailing experience declaration may be required by the local port authorities for the skipper and co-skipper.
